Dal Tadka

Past few weeks I have been making different curries, etc. but no pappus. I have decided I need to start making and trying out pappus...I am not very good at it--as in I am not used to cooking them AT ALL. K likes them and I plan on making them regularly---not just because he likes them but also as vegetarians pappus are our main source of protein. Below is a pappu I tried last week--- it's more north Indian in style.


Dal Tadka

Cook any yellow dal of your choice--in pressure cooker.

In oil:

cumin seeds + mustard seeds + chilli powder + turmeric + curry leaves + small garlic pieces + onions

Add the above to the cooked dal!

Easy!
