I love biryani. The taste of hotel biryani cannot be replicated at home--but I love trying out versions of it at home. Below is a version I made recently:
Vegetable Biryani
Microwave until partly cooked the following: Beans + Matar + potatoes + cauliflower
Cook basmati rice
In oil:
Cumin seeds + bay leaf + cloves + start anise + poppy seeds + garlic + ginger + all the cooked vegetables + chopped pudina + chopped coriander + turmeric + garam masala + chili powder + coriander powder
Chop onions into tiny pieces and fry them in oil
Layer:
Rice, masala mix, onions, rice, masala, onions, rice, milk+saffron
So the layering is how it should be done, but I didn't do it that way. Because while I was in the process S called and I got distracted...so I ended up just mixing up everything...hehe.
Done!
