It feels great to have a hot bowl of soup on a rainy or cold day. The other day for dinner we had hot black bean spicy soup with warm bread. We all enjoyed it very much. I was thinking whether this would be something S would enjoy...I would just have it make for him once and see how it goes!
Black Bean Spicy Soup
In oil:
Cumin seeds + green chills + garlic + onions + tomatoes
Grind the above along with half of the black beans you want to use in your soup ( I used canned black beans for convenience)
Pour this mixture back into the container on heat and throw in the rest of the black beans. Wait till its nice and boiling to serve. Add water as needed.
Before eating --- throw in tiny cut red onions and coriander/cilantro leaves into the individual bowls. Serve along with lemon wedges. Adding lemon juice makes it extra good (at least to me because in my books adding lemon makes anything and everything(well most everything) better).
